My Story

My name is Olen Dean Gustafson, and I am a photographer.

My journey began in 1984, during a visit to a friend’s farm, when someone placed a professional 35mm Nikon camera in my hands. That single moment changed my life.

Looking through the viewfinder opened a new way of seeing the world. Photography became more than a way to capture what was in front of me—it became a language for creativity, discovery, and self-expression.

For more than 40 years, that experience has continued to guide me. My creative path has expanded through photography, visual media, and art, but the inspiration remains the same: to notice what others might overlook, preserve meaningful moments, and share the world as I see and feel it.

What began with a Nikon camera on a friend’s farm became a lifelong journey—and I am still exploring.
